Georgia DOT is reporting that the number of roadway fatalities
climbed to 1,166 in 2015, compared to 989 in 2014. Georgia is on pace to
see its first increase in traffic-related deaths in 9 years.

To address a startling increase in fatalities on Georgia’s roadways in 2015, Georgia DOT launched
DriveAlert ArriveAlive. The goal of this statewide safety
campaign is to educate drivers about how making simple changes in their
driving behavior can prevent crashes and save lives. The campaign is a
partnership between Georgia DOT, the Governor's Office of Highway Safety
and the Department of Public Safety.
