2015 Ford Edge Sport

Cruising around in the 2015 Ford Edge Sport definitely made head turns from the slick design to beautiful Electric Spice color had people stopping me every where I went. I was first introduced to the Ford Edge in San Fransisco at the Ford Trends Conference so I was super excited to test drive it for a couple of weeks.

The Ford Edge Crossover comes equipped with Enhanced Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning, a 180-degree front camera system with a washer, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, two 2-amp USB chargers.

This vehicle handles great and averages up to 18 city, 27 highway MPG, comes packed with a powerful Ecoboost Engine: 2.7L V6

Lane Keeping Assist: There is a camera mounted behind the windshield that monitors road lane markings to determine vehicle position and detect a lane departure. Lane-keeping alert warns that you’re starting to drift through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which mimic a rumble strip

The 2015 Ford Edge is offered in SE, SEL, Titanium and Sport trim levels. All models come with front- or all-wheel drive.

Standard features of the SE model include 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, air-conditioning, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, a 4.2-inch screen in the center stack, a rearview camera and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player and USB and auxiliary inputs. Also included is Ford's Sync system that features voice recognition, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, 911 Assist, and the ability to run apps such as Pandora Internet radio through a smartphone.

The Ford Edge comes standard with antilock brakes, traction and stability control, Ford's Curve Control, front knee airbags, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and a rearview camera. The Ford Sync system includes an emergency crash-notification feature that automatically dials 911 when paired with a compatible cell phone. Also standard is Ford's MyKey, which can be used to set certain parameters for secondary drivers such as teens or valets. All but the SE also have rear parking sensors.

Ford Unveils ‘By Design’ Mural in Venice Beach with Jhené Aiko

On Sunday, Ford Motor Company hosted its “Culture Collabs” campaign in Venice Beach. The event included an audiovisual collaboration by iconic music producer Alchemist and artistic crew The Seventh Letter, a DJ set by director, designer and DJ Vashtie Kola, and s surprise performance by singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko.

“Culture Collabs” is an extension of Ford’s “By Design” ad campaign that debuted in October, spotlighting the latest lineup of Ford vehicles. The campaign aligns with the new overall brand expression – highlighted by an energy and cultural relevance that is critical to Ford.

On Saturday, Ford launched “By Design” with an installation in Detroit; the murals there can be seen at Gratiot Avenue and Brush Street. The Venice Beach installation is located at Ocean Front Walk and 19th Avenue. Ford will unveil the San Francisco installation on Wednesday.

Each market collaborates with key influencers – including Alchemist, Vashtie Kola, The SeventhLetter, TRUE San Francisco’s Michael Brown and widely sought artist Naturel.

Ford reveals new eBike & MoDe Link

On Tuesday June 23rd I traveled to Silicon Valley to attend my first Further with Ford Digital Trends Conference. This was such an amazing experience I love how Ford is so innovative and constantly raising the bar with that being said at the conference they revealed the new MoDe:Flex eBike: A new prototype electric bike that offers customization and connectivity options for the enthusiast rider.

The New eBike will be equipped with MoDe:Link app to help riders navigate any environment and to provide real-time, turn-by-turn directions; Ford also experimenting with a prototype Apple Watch to enhance the connected journey.

MoDe:Flex has the proportions of a conventional bike, but the center frame  assembly includes a motor and battery. The front and rear assemblies and  wheels can be configured for road, mountain or city riding. The bike disconnects at the front and rear for easy storage, or can be reconfigured and pulled along – like a golf cart. The battery slides out of the bike for remote charging, or it can be plugged into a vehicle outlet

MoDe:Flex connects with the rider’s smartphone thanks to MoDe:Link. The app helps riders navigate any territory with real-time information regarding weather, congestion, parking costs, time, and public transportation. MoDe:Link also offers eyes-free navigation, route planning, and health and fitness information.

The MoDe:Link app extension prototype for the smartwatches allows drivers to access their car’s needs for an enhanced driving experience right at the wrist. Easily lock and unlock your vehicle, find where you parked as well as access mileage, driving efficiency, EV charging status and the vehicle manual.
